Stories 4 Strength has ongoing partnerships in Cambodia. For our first international outreach program, we traveled to Siem Reap where we performed a show about health and hygiene at the Angkor Hospital For Children, AHC's rural clinics, and a number of local schools. We partnered with both the AHC peer group for young adults living with HIV/AIDS and Kaliyan Mith, a branch of Friends International. With a mix of 32 students from the two organizations, we created a second show which we toured into the community and performed as a fundraiser for the Angkor Hospital for Children. The kids rocked! They'd never performed in front of an audience, but they showed up with courage, threw themselves into their roles and left everyone smiling and laughing. We couldn't have been more proud.
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
Stories 4 Strength did a year long program bringing theater, dance and puppetry to the awesome kids at the Women In Need homeless shelter in New York City. The kids created shows dealing with stories from their lives and dreams for their futures, and performed them for their friends and family at the shelter.
