In March 2017, Stories 4 Strength traveled to Siem Reap where we did health and hygiene workshops at the Angkor Hospital For Children, AHC's rural clinics, and local schools. We partnered with AHC's peer group for young adults living with HIV/AIDS as well as Kaliyan Mith, a branch of Friends International. With 32 students from the two organizations, we created a show which we toured into the community. The kids rocked! They'd never performed in front of an audience, but they showed up with courage, threw themselves into their roles and left everyone smiling and laughing. We couldn't have been more proud. We will be returning to Cambodia in November 2017.
In December 2017, Stories 4 Strength will travel to Athens to work with refugee children at our partner organization, Khora. We will bring our creative workshop to kids living through one of the biggest crises of our time. We will create opportunities for learning, growth, and play in their time of struggle and transition.
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
Stories 4 Strength did a year long program bringing theater, dance and puppetry to the awesome kids at the Women In Need homeless shelter in New York City. The kids created shows dealing with stories from their lives and dreams for their futures, and performed them for their friends and family at the shelter.
